For nurses who could afford to "escape" from their domestic duties, an interesting programme was prepared for Sunday 12 October, which included a tour of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the Hospital Hořovice, belonging to the owner of the Oncology Centre Multiscan Pardubice Ing. Zavalianis. The "guides" of the Pardubice medical staff were Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis and the director of Multiscan MUDr. Jan Calta. The Beroun hospital is undergoing constant reconstruction, which began with the privatisation of the hospital in 2007. Its main landmark is the Rehabilitation Centre, to which a large part of the hospital premises is dedicated. The hospital includes an internal ward for patients, day surgery along with other departments providing a comprehensive continuity of rehabilitation care. The hospital is surrounded by a beautiful park, which is landscaped so that patients can take regular walks on the trail around the hospital. The park features resting gazebos, simple rehabilitation machines and a training area for mobility impaired patients.
The second part of the tour took place at the Hořovice Hospital. This hospital is also undergoing constant reconstruction and modernisation, which is basically in the same spirit as the hospital in Beroun. It offers patients care in various fields, both in outpatient and inpatient form. The oncology nurses were particularly interested in a tour of the oncology inpatient unit with the possibility of administering the necessary chemotherapy. The oncology outpatient area was very efficiently laid out, equipped with modern equipment and beautiful facilities for patients and nurses.
"I would like to thank the management for allowing us to realize this weekend", says Eva Koblížková, head nurse of the Oncology Centre Multiscan Pardubice. According to her, the Pardubice nurses took away from this visit not only a lot of knowledge but also common experiences that helped them to get to know each other a little bit more than just on the work side. "We all left with creative thoughts, ideas, new approaches and I believe that we can transfer at least a small part of it into our daily practice", says Sister Koblížková.
