Multiscan has joined the national lung cancer screening programme. Early diagnosis can save lives

With the purchase of a state-of-the-art CT scanner, Multiscan's radiodiagnostic department decided to establish a chest radiodiagnostic centre, which focuses, among other things, on the early detection of lung cancer. Patients who wish to participate in the National Lung Cancer Screening Programme can therefore undergo the necessary diagnostic tests at our department.

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancer diagnoses and one of the most common causes of cancer death. The problem is that in the early stages it often occurs without significant symptoms. This is why screening plays a crucial role - it allows the disease to be detected at a time when treatment is significantly more effective and the chances of recovery are much higher.

Screening is primarily aimed at at-risk groups, especially long-term smokers and ex-smokers at an older age.

"Early detection of lung cancer significantly increases the chance of successful treatment. Thanks to modern imaging methods, we are able to detect even very small changes that would otherwise go unnoticed," says Martin Hiršl, MD, who deals with lung screening at the radiology department.

Comprehensive care in one place

Multiscan uses modern diagnostic methods, especially low-dose CT scans that can detect subtle changes in lung tissue. The advantages of this method are its high accuracy, speed of examination, minimal radiation burden and non-invasive course.

In case of finding suspicious changes, the patient is provided with further diagnostics and cooperation with specialized departments, especially with the oncology centre, which is also part of Multiscan Pardubice. The aim is to ensure a smooth and fast procedure without unnecessary delays. The emphasis is on individual approach, patient comfort and modern environment of the workplace.

Prevention as the key to health

Lung screening represents an important step in the prevention of serious diseases. Multiscan actively promotes prevention awareness and encourages risk groups not to underestimate regular check-ups.

"Prevention is always easier and less burdensome than treatment alone. If we can catch the disease early, we give patients a significantly better outlook," concludes the head of radiodiagnostics , Petra Jiříčková, MD.
