It was a licensed presentation of the best lectures published at the most prestigious radiation oncology symposium in the world under the auspices of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) held in San Diego. The presentations were divided into several sections and were delivered by leading Czech oncologists.
This event presented to the general Czech professional public current and important for medical practice oncological information directly in the Czech Republic. More than one hundred experts from all over the Czech Republic attended the Congress, including representatives from all Comprehensive Cancer Centres.
According to doc. Martin Dolezel, M.D., Ph.D., the president of the symposium and also the head of the Multiscan Oncology Centre, lectures on the use of modern stereotactic techniques in lung tumours, liver metastases and inoperable kidney tumours. The significant benefit of radiotherapy was also confirmed in postoperative radiation therapy for patients with more advanced uterine body tumours or men with high-risk prostate cancer.
The technological equipment of cancer centres allows these state-of-the-art therapeutic findings to be immediately implemented in the treatment of cancer patients.
Due to the very good response from the professional public, who appreciated the quality of the lectures and the high organizational level, the Multiscan Cancer Centre will, according to the statement of its representative doc. MUDr. Vaňásek, CSc. will continue the tradition of organizing this highly prestigious congress.
