After a very successful first year of Best of ASTRO 2015, Multiscan, namely the head of the radiation therapy facilities, doc. MUDr. Martin Doležel Ph.D., after a selection procedure, the license for the next edition of this event for the Czech Republic.
This is a licensed presentation of the best lectures that were published at the most prestigious radiation oncology symposium in the world under the auspices of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) last year. The presentations were held in several sections (digestive tract tumours, gynaecological tumours, urological tumours, lung tumours, head and neck tumours, breast tumours, etc.) and were delivered by leading Czech oncologists from Prague, Hradec Králové, Brno, Ostrava, Nový Jičín and of course Pardubice, namely Assoc. Vaňásek, prof. Odrážka and doc. Dolezel.
"This lecture day, which was held under the auspices of the Society of Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics, allowed more than a hundred registered Czech oncologists and physicists to learn about the latest information in radiation oncology right here in the Czech Republic," said Multiscan's physician and spokesman Vít Ulrych, MD.
As the head of the organizing Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region doc. MUDr. Jaroslav Vaňásek, CSc., among the most interesting novelties presented at this congress were lectures on the influence of modern technologies on reducing side effects in the treatment of head and neck cancer or breast cancer. Due to the recent purchase of new instrumentation at our department and the introduction of new targeted treatment techniques, it can be argued that our department meets even the most stringent criteria of a modern world-class oncology department.
