World-renowned neuro-oncologist Michael Beard was honored at the Controversies in Oncology

On 16-17 May 2019, the Kunětická hora Dříteč Congress Centre hosted the traditional professional conference Controversies in Oncology. The ninth edition of this prestigious event brought together top experts in the field of oncology to discuss the latest procedures and methods in the treatment of solid tumours. The highlight of this year's programme was the presentation of the Gold Memorial Medal of the Czech Medical Society of Jan Evangelista Purkyně to Michael Brad, Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Liverpool.

For the ninth time, the professional conference Controversies in Oncology was held in Dřítč u Pardubic, where, in addition to the organizing physicians from the Oncology and Radiology Centre Multiscan Pardubice, other representatives of renowned oncology departments from all over the Czech Republic participated in the programme. The series of more than twenty lectures on various controversial oncological topics was highlighted by an exceptional event, namely the presentation of the Gold Commemorative Medal of the Czech Cancer Society to Professor Michael Brad, a native of the Czech Republic, who is currently working at the University of Liverpool.

The important award was presented to Michael Brad by the Vice President of the Czech Medical Society Jan Evangelista Purkyně and Director of the University Hospital in Hradec Králové, Prof. Vladimír Palička, M.D., Ph.D., who thanked him for everything he has done for Czech medicine and Czech oncology.
