First, the guests were introduced to the functioning of the new company after the merger of five acute inpatient care hospitals in the Pardubice Region, as well as the history and news of Pardubice Hospital. During the meeting with Vice-Chairman Bartošek, who was accompanied by Vít Ulrych, a physician at the Oncology Centre, Tomáš Gottvald, General Director of the Pardubice Region Hospital, Ivana Urešová, Director of the Pardubice Hospital, and Roman Michálek, Deputy Director for Medical and Preventive Care, personnel issues and the education system in the Czech health care system were also discussed. The members of the management also informed the guest about the plans for further development of the local health care facility in the form of a new psychiatry pavilion and the project of emergency reception with centralization of acute specialties.
During the more than two-hour visit, the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies also visited some of the departments. He visited the modernised radiodiagnostic department with digitised X-ray machines, and in the Multidisciplinary Pavilion he visited the outpatient clinic and the modern operating theatre of the Department of Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Surgery. Then he moved to the neighbouring building and the head doctor of the Comprehensive Cancer Centre of Pardubice Region Jaroslav Vaňásek introduced our guest to the operation of the radiotherapy department of Multiscan, including the state-of-the-art Varian TruBeam irradiator. All participants praised the very good cooperation between Multiscan and the Hospital of the Pardubice Region. At the end of the meeting, Iveta Kolářová, the Vice-Chairman for Radiation and Clinical Oncology, invited Mr. Bartosek to the next edition of our important conference Controversies in Oncology, and he accepted the invitation with thanks.
