On the last weekend in April, another edition of the National Seminar for Oncology Nurses was held. Like last year, it took place at the Sen Hotel in Senohraby, where for two days nurses were educated in the safe administration and use of cytostatics, the importance of monoclonal antibodies as a biological drug or how to deal with extravasation, oral cavity damage or radiodermatitis.
The seminar was professionally supervised by Prof. Samuel Vokurka, M.D., Ph.D. from the University Hospital Pilsen. In addition to him, lectures were given by Prof. Petra Tesarova, M.D., CSc. from the Bulovka University Hospital or Stanislav Synek, PharmD, Ph.D. from the Masaryk Cancer Institute in Brno.
After the expert contributions, the first day was concluded with a lecture Psychosocial support, self-care, how to stay "on top of things" and not to burn out by PhDr. Ing. Martin Pospíchal, Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University.
