The owner of Multiscan s.r.o. ing. Sotirios Zavalianis says that his greatest asset is the quality of his employees, whom he highly respects.

He also showed that these are not just empty words by presenting all 32 employees who were at the birth of his first medical facility in Pardubice in 2002 and 2003, now called the Multiscan Pardubice Oncology and Radiology Centre, with a certificate of thanks and a voucher for a ten-day all-inclusive stay for two people on the Greek island of Crete at a Christmas party last November.

The stay in Crete was divided into 3 dates, ten days each, from 27 May to 27 June 2015, in the resort of Gouves, less than 20 km from the capital Heraklion, in the hotel complex Gouves Bay - Hotel Maya.

The weather was good throughout the period, we enjoyed swimming in the pools of the complex and in the turquoise sea and delicious food including many tasty Greek specialties. Most of the staff also took advantage of the optional tours of Crete, from east to west and north to south, to all the places of historical interest. We learned about the history of Crete from the Minoan civilization to the present day thanks to the excellent knowledge of our guides. During the bus crossings to see the historical sites, we also heard some fascinating myths from Greek mythology that relate to the island of Crete, as legends tell us that it was here that Zeus, the ruler of the gods, was born and grew up.

We visited the capital city of Heraklion with its ancient streets and markets and the famous archaeological museum, the palaces preserved from the Minoan period in Knossos near Heraklion, the Palace of Festos in Matale, the Arkadi Monastery in Chania, Kaliviani and Areti located at 500 m above sea level, the island of Spinalonga, which has a rich history and from 1903 to 1957 people affected by leprosy were interned there. We swam in the Libyan Sea at the beach of Matale, which is lined by a cliff with holes that served as tombs in Roman times and other objects and places of historical interest and importance. We also explored an olive oil production and winery near Heraklion, where we tasted delicious local wines and learned more about the olive oil production process and wine growing. Also interesting was the famous marine aquarium near Gouves and other places that the island of Crete offers to tourists.

Everyone returned home safely and brought back for their loved ones to taste, for example, the famous Cretan honey and olives.
It was a very enjoyable and informative holiday, and on behalf of all the rewarded doctors, physicists, nurses, radiology assistants and administrative staff, we would like to once again express our gratitude to Mr. Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis for his appreciation of our work.
