My colleagues stayed in Greece for a total of ten days. They were deserving health professionals who received certificates of thanks from the owner of the hospitals Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis for their work along with a voucher for an all inclusive stay for two people in Rhodes. The stay on the Greek island was divided into 3 dates, from 30 May to 30 June 2016, at the Ilyssion Hotel, near the ancient town of Lindos.
And what were their impressions of their stay in Rhodes?
"The hotel was downright family run, so we were well looked after from food, drink to cultural activities. We enjoyed swimming both in the pools and in the clear sea. We went on excursions to the nearby town of Lindos. The picturesque streets, shops and boutiques completely absorbed us. We also had the opportunity to go to the capital of the island of Rhodes - Rhodes, about 60km away. We saw the ancient Olympic stadium, the ancient theatre with a round auditorium, the Aegean Sea, the huge beaches. There was also a stop at the port of Mandraki, at the entrance of which stood the famous Colossus of Rhodes. According to myth, the patron god of Rhodes is the sun god Helios. And we really enjoyed the sun. Rested and full of energy, we went back home, although we did not like it," summarizes Jana Paldusová, a station nurse at the Svitava Clinical Oncology Outpatient Clinic.
"We want to thank the great group that came together during the first tour. Every evening we sat on the terrace with a beautiful view of the sea. We traveled almost the whole island by local bus service or by rented motorbike. We visited the historic center and harbor in the capital of Rhodes, Lardos, close to our hotel, with its ruins, Pefki with its little church on the hill, Lindos with its beautiful acropolis, old mill and the tomb of Cleobulus. Our next destination was the beautiful village of Siana, hidden in the hinterland, from where, after a delicious lunch, we continued to Monolithos and the beautiful pebble beach of Fourni," says Lenka Zahradníková, radiology assistant at the Multiscan radiology department.
"It was just beautiful. I went to relax and that's what happened. Beautiful sea in sight every minute, sandy beaches, swimming in the sea, a family hotel. I couldn't have asked for anything more." says Eva Pavlíková, a doctor at the Pardubice Cancer Centre. "I would like to thank the management for a wonderful holiday and greet all the participants of the second tour. I had a great time with you and I am looking forward to meeting you again at the Ilyssion Hotel in Rhodes," adds Dr. Pavlíková.
Tour participants from our medical facilities praise the virtues of Greek cuisine. They all returned home safely and brought back Greek honey, olive oil and olives for their loved ones to taste, for example.
