Our team of nurses and radiology assistants also decided to support this charity event. The runners deliberately chose clothing that represented not only our company but also their profession. At the same time, they wanted to evoke positive reactions and show that they can support these patients beyond their work duties. Throughout the run, our runners were brimming with undying vigour and positive energy, and perhaps thanks to all this, they earned the nickname, "nuclear women". Healthcare workers caring for oncology patients are often exposed to mentally challenging situations, they have to show their great inner strength and determination, so the label "nuclear women" belongs to them in a good way. It was obvious from the reactions of the runners that they really enjoyed their time spent at the event and gained a lot of positive energy, which they will surely share with our patients.
For me as one of the "nuclear women" it was a very pleasant time. I am glad that I have female colleagues who decided to support this event and have fun at the same time. I would like to wish all the participants that their spirit will last as long as possible. At the same time, I hope that next year we will meet again at this event.
The turnout was just under 2000 people (of which over 1100 were runners). There was also a cheque presentation to the director of the Krtek Children's Oncology Foundation, for which a fantastic CZK 110,200 was raised. A huge thank you to everyone for that as well.
