Multiscan supported the Czech Day Against Cancer again after one year

The theme of the twenty-fourth year of the nationwide public collection Czech Day Against Cancer, which takes place on 30 September, is the prevention of kidney and bladder cancer and is again supported financially by our centre.

Just like last year, the Multiscan Cancer and Radiology Centre purchased marigold flowers for its employees and patients, supporting one of the best-known charity activities with a long tradition.

"This is the second time our company has participated in the Czech Day Against Cancer. Every day we see how difficult it is to fight this insidious disease and we are glad to be able to participate in such a worthy cause as this fundraiser," said Naďa Hloušová, spokeswoman for Multiscan.

The project is organized by the non-profit organization League Against Cancer, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Its main goal is to reduce cancer mortality, which it is trying to achieve through several programmes - cancer prevention and education for a healthy lifestyle, improving the quality of life of cancer patients and supporting oncology research and instrumentation of oncology workplaces.

This year's theme is kidney and bladder cancer. Despite improving care, modernisation of equipment and medical methods, the Czech Republic still ranks first in the increase of new cases. Faulty eating habits, undisciplined lifestyle and lack of exercise are mainly to blame.

You can also support the Czech Day Against Cancer either by buying a flower from volunteers on the streets or by sending an e-petition by DMS. Read more here.
