Inauguration of the second linear accelerator

During the opening speeches, the Vice-Head of the Pardubice Region, Ing. Roman Línek, President of the Czech Oncological Society Prof. MUDr. Jiří Vorlíček, CSc., Deputy Mayor of Pardubice Ing. Alexandr Krejčíř and member of the Pardubice Region Council for Health, Ing. Josef Janeček.

On the afternoon of 25 January 2008, the second linear accelerator was inaugurated at the Multiscan Radiology Centre in Pardubice. The opening ceremony started with a short presentation of the current development of the radiotherapy and oncology part of the Multiscan Radiology Centre and an introduction to the possibilities of the newly installed linear accelerator.

Before the actual tour of the newly adapted premises and the installed device, the participants of the opening ceremony were presented with additional information about the newly installed technology by doc. MUDr. Jaroslav Vaňásek, CSc, head of the radiotherapy and oncology part of the Multiscan Radiology Centre and the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region, as well as the director of the Pardubice Regional Hospital MUDr. Jan Feřtek and the director of Multiscan MUDr. Jan Calta, who informed the attendees about the conclusion of agreements on the creation of the Complex Oncology Group Polabí, creating conditions for cooperation between the KOC of the Pardubice Region and the adjacent areas of the Central Bohemia Region (Kolín region).

The opening ceremony included a space for local journalists and TV crews (NOVA, which aired a report on 25 January 2008 in the afternoon news at 5 p.m.), who were provided with basic information about the Multiscan Radiology Centre in Pardubice and the Comprehensive Cancer Centre of the Pardubice Region.

The opening ceremony was concluded with an informal meeting of the attendees during the prepared refreshments.
