For the third time we defended the title of the best managed company in the healthcare sector

Twenty-three Czech companies were awarded in the third Czech edition of the global Best Managed Companies (BMC) programme. The programme evaluates the privately owned companies in detail according to strict international parameters. This year, the title of Best Managed Company in the healthcare sector was defended by AKESO Holding, which includes the Hořovice Hospital, the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun, the Diagnostic Centre of the Hořovice Hospital in Prague and the Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre.

"We cooperate with Deloitte on many levels and this project is another opportunity for us to exchange experiences and, I will not hide, also to show off our achievements and what we think we do well," says Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis, Chairman of AKESO Holding. "BMC is a mirror for us. It follows a certain methodology that reflects best management practice. We do a lot of things in our own way, in a specific culture based on a close-knit, almost family-like environment. Logically, we are interested in whether we have the capacity to continue to grow in this setting and whether we have the important processes in place to continue to be successful in the future. And this project gives us all that," he adds.

"The third Czech edition shows that companies are doing very well in terms of management. In this year's edition, we were faced with the fact that even very well-managed companies could run into problems due to the current situation, because of the general price rises and the fight against high inflation. None of the companies took it tragically, their resilience and optimism for the future was infectious, and those who met the criteria and will be awarded are definitely winners not only in this program, but in general in the fight against the adversity of the times," says Miroslav Svoboda, Country Leader of Deloitte ČR, who also heads the Czech Best Managed Companies and Deloitte Private program.

Companies in the Czech Best Managed Companies programme are judged by an independent jury of seven experts. Companies must meet the required level in four main pillars - Strategy, Productivity and Innovation, Management and Financial Performance and Corporate Culture.

"Although Czech companies have faced a number of unfavourable factors in recent months, this year's Czech Best Managed Companies programme has shown that they have built a strong corporate strategy and quality management. Challenges in the form of supply chain disruption, energy shock or rising financing costs will unfortunately not disappear this year or next. However, this year has confirmed my belief that Czech companies are very well prepared and can continue to develop successfully," said Munir Nanji, Citi's Managing Director for the Czech Republic and Central Europe.
