This is a licensed presentation of the best lectures published at the most prestigious radiation oncology symposium in the world under the auspices of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). The presentations will be given in several sections (digestive tract tumors, gynecologic tumors, urologic tumors, lung tumors, head and neck tumors, breast tumors, and others) and will be presented by leading Czech oncologists.
Multiscan company, namely the head of the irradiation facilities doc. MUDr. Martin Doležel Ph.D., has obtained a license to hold this event for the Czech Republic after a complex selection procedure. This is a pilot project that will allow Czech oncologists to get acquainted with the latest oncological information directly in the Czech Republic for the first time. As the head of the organizing Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region, doc. MUDr. Jaroslav Vaňásek, CSc., the most interesting news presented at this congress will certainly include lectures on targeted accelerated radiotherapy of breast cancer and new findings on technically very demanding stereotactic irradiation of early stages of lung cancer. Due to the recent upgrading of our department's equipment, the new techniques will be quickly incorporated into medical practice.
