Specifics of the care provided
We irradiate on Varian Medical System equipment.
TrueBeam 1 is equipped with multi-blade collimator, OBI system and 6D irradiation table.
TrueBeam 2 is equipped with a multi-blade collimator, OBI system and 6D irradiation table and the ability to irradiate with electron beam.
Both devices are capable of irradiating patients with dynamic IMRT and RapidArc technology, enabling automatic adaptation of the irradiation technique to the patient's breathing movements with respiratory gating and the application of high-precision stereotactic radiotherapy.
We provide a virtually complete spectrum of external irradiation. In planning, we use fusion with available diagnostic methods (CT, MR, PET/CT). By implementing modern software allowing the use of deformable registration, we are also able to respond to changes in the topography of the tumour and healthy tissues during radiotherapy using so-called adaptive radiotherapy.
Important information
- After the CT simulation, please sit in the waiting room on the ground floor of the building before your first radiation treatment, you do not need to report anywhere, the chip you receive at the CT will inform us of your arrival.
- The radiology assistant will invite you into a cubicle to arrange a time for your first radiation treatment. If you need to adjust the time, please contact the assistants, we will try to accommodate you.
- Wait in the booth until we call you into the radiation room.
- Radiation is offered Monday through Friday (weekend radiation will be offered as indicated by your physician or to compensate for service interruptions - breakdown, service).
- You will have a doctor's appointment once a week.
- Always bring a small towel and a chip (grey watch) to the radiation room to identify you. You put the chip on the end of the table (so you don't have to wear it on your arm).
- The radiology assistant will set you up in the irradiation position (the same as the CT scan plan) and then the doctor will come to check the first setting.
- It is important to lie still, breathe normally and not move during the radiation treatment until the assistant gives you instructions.
- Radiation is painless and you are monitored by an industrial camera throughout.
- After the first radiation treatment, we will draw long red lines on you that must last for the duration of the radiation treatment. The radiology assistants will refresh the lines regularly. If the marks become less clear over the weekend, use a red marker to outline them, for example. The marks must be preserved for the next radiation treatment!
- If you are unable to come to your radiation treatment or have any other problems or questions, please call:
