World Radiology Day falls every year on 8 November. To celebrate this holiday, the Faculty of Health Studies in Pardubice organizes a colloquium, which aims to discuss current issues related to the field of radiological assisting and educate not only students of the University of Pardubice through lectures and presentations by experts.
The theme of this year's conference was Interventional Radiology in Active Patient Care and experts from medical institutions from the Pardubice and Hradec Kralove regions and also from Prague took the floor. After the opening ceremony, the head of the Neurological Clinic of Pardubice Hospital, MUDr. Petr Geier, spoke on the topic of ischemic stroke. Other speakers included Professor Antonín Krajina, Head of the Radiology Clinic of the Hradec Králové University Hospital, who focused on the therapy of ischemic strokes, and Professor Jiří Petera, Head of the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy, who spoke about brachytherapy in the treatment of malignant tumours.
