Acknowledgements to Associate Professor Martin Doležel

The current President of the Society of Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics of the Czech Society of Radiation Oncology doc. MUDr. Martin Doležel, Ph.D. is leaving our society after 12 years, where he contributed significantly to the development of the Cancer Centre, was a driving force in the introduction of new methods in radiotherapy and participated in building the reputation of the society among the professional public and patients. Under his leadership, the prestigious licensed conference for radiation oncologists, Best of ASTRO, was organized annually.

We would like to thank him and sincerely wish him well in his home country, both in his professional and personal life.

Last year, before the holidays, Ondřej Tichý learned that he had cancer. The successful thirty-two-year-old man, a father of three daughters, had his life turned upside down overnight. He promised himself that if everything was all right after a year, he would send some money to charity. In the end, he decided to donate CZK 100,000 to sick children and their families through the Good Angel Foundation.
