Patients of the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region have a new state-of-the-art pavilion

Multiscan s.r.o. from the AKESO medical holding, which is part of the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region, started construction of a new clinical oncology building on the premises of Pardubice Hospital in mid-2018. Multiscan's investments in the building and its equipment amounted to nearly CZK 100 million and were made in parallel with investments in the purchase of a linear accelerator and the modernisation of the radiation oncology department, which is also part of the centre, for approximately CZK 120 million. All of these costs were financed by Multiscan from its own resources, without the possibility of accessing and using subsidy programmes. The new clinical oncology pavilion will offer patients and employees of the centre a completely new, high standard. The grand opening of the new pavilion will take place on 9 December 2019, when it will be fully operational after a three-week trial run.

The intention to build a new pavilion with clinical oncology outpatient clinics arose mainly from the need to solve the unsatisfactory conditions in the premises of building No. 22 on the premises of the Pardubice Hospital, where the outpatient clinics were located until now. The inclusion of the other outpatient clinics from buildings 13 and 30 under one roof was just the next logical step.

"We have been striving for a long time to build a pavilion with chemotherapy outpatient clinics and a hospital. From the very beginning, it was a project that had the highest priority," says the managing director of Multiscan s.r.o. and owner of AKESO Holding Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis. "Patients undergo demanding treatment with us and it is of utmost importance that they feel comfortable. The building fulfils all the conditions we set out to achieve before we started, i.e. large enough space to work, state-of-the-art equipment and a pleasant environment and comfort for our patients and employees," Zavalianis said.

The chemotherapy outpatient clinic and the inpatient clinic for the application of chemotherapy and biological treatment are being moved from the so-called "house" to the new four-storey building No. 24. At the same time, the outpatient and dispensary clinics, the specialist outpatient clinic and the offices of the company management and administration are also moving there.
