Health Minister Vlastimil Válek first visited the Pardubice Hospital, where he presented the vaccination campaign entitled "We vaccinate ourselves for a life without fear" as part of his roadshow. In the afternoon, he arrived at the Oncology Centre, where he met with the owner of AKESO Holding and the CEO of Multiscan s.r.o. Sotirios Zavalianis, the CEO of Multiscan Martina Kulštejnová and representatives of the medical management headed by the head doctor of the Comprehensive Cancer Centre of the Pardubice Region, Professor Karel Odrážka.
The meeting was preceded by a tour of the clinical and radiation oncology department, equipment and a demonstration of the treatment of a patient undergoing radiotherapy. The visit continued with a tour of the clinical oncology building including outpatient clinics and the chemotherapy inpatient facility. The meeting was concluded with a convivial conversation about new developments in cancer treatment, the functioning of cancer centres and clinics and comparison with foreign medical institutions.
"In Pardubice we have managed to build a state-of-the-art oncology centre, which provides care to patients not only from the Pardubice Region, but also from the surrounding area. At the same time, we have highly qualified medical staff who care for cancer patients with humanity and dedication. I am glad that we had the opportunity to show all this to the Minister and to boast about what we have achieved. I thank the Minister for his kind visit full of thought-provoking questions and we will be very happy to welcome him either again at Multiscan or at one of our other healthcare facilities," said Sotirios Zavalianis, owner of AKESO Holding.
