The island of Kos was chosen partly because of its symbolism - it is the place where the most famous doctor of all times, the ancient Hippocrates, was born and worked, but also because it is one of the most beautiful Greek resorts. The Atlantis hotel complex, located right on the beach, is set in well-kept gardens with exotic flora and palm trees. Near the hotel is the centre of the famous resort of Lambi, where there are many excellent restaurants, tavernas, bars and shops.
And what were your impressions of the holiday?
"I flew to Kos with my daughter and I must say we had a great time. As we both like to move around a lot, we did a lot of cycling and sports. We stayed in a nice hotel, tasted delicious Greek specialties and took a lot of nice trips. Everything went well. On behalf of myself and my daughter, I would like to thank Mr. Zavalianis very much for allowing us to visit such a magical place," says Ivana Novotná, senior radiology assistant from diagnostics.
"I have had the opportunity to see and visit a few countries in my life. I used to travel alone, but now I have an eight-year-old guide who, thanks to Mr Zavalianis, had the opportunity to see the sea for the first time in his life and take a plane ride. He was and still is absolutely thrilled about it and I often hear him say, "Mom, when are we going to Greece again?" So Greece is a matter of heart and hearts for me. My personal experience is that I always met nice and friendly people who were a pleasure to talk to. I'm not just referring to the hotel staff doing their job to perfection, but also the "regular" people we met during our wanderings on foot and by bike around the island. Whether it was the lady we met while waiting for the bus to the thermal spring on the seashore, who later turned out to be the granddaughter of the owner of the restaurant on the beach, standing right by these springs, and so she was our guide for the whole day, or an elderly lady we met in the streets of the town, who started talking to us. She revealed to us that she had come to Greece on holiday from her native Germany 15 years ago and was so enchanted by Greece that she had stayed there. We chatted about the amazing Greek cuisine, from the sea creatures, lamb, cheeses to all the vegetables and their wine... I still salivate when I think of all the goodies. Greece and the island of Kos did not disappoint. The only disappointment was that my stay in paradise ended so quickly," says Mgr. Zdeňka Vilasová, Ph.D., datamanager.
"It was the first time we were on Kos with my family and we cannot praise the holiday enough - a beautiful hotel complex, excellent food, nice sea, where the children enjoyed looking for shells and stones and watching fish. During the day there were very nice animation programs, in the evening there was a disco for children and a cabaret. In the centre of Kos we admired the picturesque streets and the harbour with lots of nice boats. None of us wanted to go back home," admits Ing. Jiří Mynařík, senior radiological physicist.
