Oncology Centre organized a multidisciplinary seminar The journey of a patient with malignant melanoma

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, the conference hall of the Cancer Center was filled with experts from dermatologists, otorhinolaryngologists, surgeons and oncologists. The reason for this was the multidisciplinary seminar The Journey of a Patient with Malignant Melanoma, which was organised by representatives of the Pardubice Commission for Skin Tumours with the support of the pharmaceutical company MSD.

During the two-hour meeting, two doctors from the Multiscan Oncology Centre, Dana Dvořáková, MD, and Aleš Hlávka, MD, PhD, gave lectures on the topics of Oncological Systemic Treatment of Malignant Melanoma and Role of Radiotherapy in the Treatment of Malignant Melanoma.

Surgical treatment of melanoma was discussed by MUDr. Jana Mergancová, Ph.D. and another perspective on the issue of skin tumours was offered by MUDr. David Stuchlík, Head of the Skin Department of Pardubice Hospital.

The whole meeting took place in the presence of 40 experts, who had the opportunity to learn about the process of mutual cooperation of the various specialties that are most involved in the treatment of malignant melanoma and the possibilities of solving the problem from several angles.

The expert programme was preceded by a tour of the Multiscan Cancer Centre, which together with Pardubice Hospital forms the Comprehensive Cancer Centre of the Pardubice Region.
