In the Czech Republic, a breast cancer screening programme has been available for women aged 45 and over since 2002. Its aim is to detect cancer early. Screening mammography is covered by public health insurance once every two years. For younger women, ultrasound is used as a preventive examination. Breast self-examination is an important part of prevention and should be carried out once a month.
The Multiscan Cancer Centre is a partner of the On the Wings of Hope event, a unique project that will take place on the last Saturday in June at the Chrudim airport. The main motto of the fun day - prevention and fight against breast cancer - will be supported by guests of renowned names. You can look forward to a number of demonstrations, accompanying programmes and events not only for women, but also for entire families with children.
The whole day will be guided by the well-known moderator Jolana Voldánová, the patronage of the event was taken over by MUDr. Pavel Jandík - head of the mamo-surgical team of the Hospital Chrudim, a. s. and surgeon at the University Hospital in Hradec Králové and also MUDr. Vít Ulrych from the Oncology Centre Multiscan Pardubice. The exceptional woman and singer ANNA K and the popular singer Michal David also expressed their support for the project.
The programme will feature a great musical atmosphere that will appeal to all generations, with the baton of a stalwart of our popular music, such as Heidi Janků.
"We want to draw attention to breast cancer prevention in a fun way. Without a healthy woman, the whole family and, consequently, society is not healthy and happy. The well-known sexologist Doc. Laura Janáčková from the Institute of Partner Relations, who will present her book Life is a Struggle - a practical guide to cancer for patients and their loved ones. There will also be a stand of the cosmetics company Avon, where you will get a free make-up. You can look forward to an evening Zumba party with the face of this exercise Mgr. Petra Tojmarova, who danced on stage with the founder of this phenomenon, Beto. " said Květa Štěrbová, the organizer of the event Na křídlech naděje, director of the company Kroužky ČR East, o.p.s.
A rich programme for children, as well as music for older teenagers, will be available from the morning, as well as demonstration flights by pilots from the aeroclub of the Chrudim airport, including parachute jumps and the possibility of flights for the public. Professional firefighters from Chrudim will present their work, mainly focused on prevention and safety. There will also be an exhibition of military equipment from Retroměsteček, or you will have the opportunity to personally try the vehicle rollover simulator.
The vernissage of photographs by the leading Czech photographer Tomáš Kubelka, whose subjects are the faces and fates of ordinary people from Pardubice, is another thing visitors to this exceptional event can look forward to.
Dads from families will appreciate the show of Škoda cars - not only new models, but also famous veterans of this brand, again including the possibility of test drives. For a change, "mums" will be treated to a mini-course on healthy cooking. And as for schoolchildren, everyone who brings a report card will receive a gift.
"We are preparing a mini-course on healthy cooking with the Circle of Health on the theme: 'love passes through the stomach', which is sure to attract both young and old visitors. We are also supporting regional producers, so the event will feature an exhibition and stall sale of artists and producers from the Chrudim and Pardubice regions, which will help them to become more visible. This prestigious prize will be made by the original Crystalex Bohemia company and the winner will go on a stay in our most important Czech spa, namely Lázně Poděbrady, a.s., which are also partners of the exceptional project.There will also be a rich raffle, or an auction of the book Infinite Silence by Tomáš Zdechovský, or an original painting of the Angel by Alice from the Institute of Social Care in Slatiňany - the proceeds will go to children with cancer.
The end of the exceptional event will belong to a film screening of Jaroslav Dušek's theatre performance 4 Agreements at 9 pm.
