This opens up the possibility of further improving the quality of oncological care in the Pardubice Region, which already ranks among the top in the Czech Republic in its organisation. All outpatient oncological care has been managed and unified under one provider, the Oncology and Radiology Centre Multiscan Pardubice, for almost 8 years. Now, with the connection of PKN (instead of FN Hradec Králové, with which it had to cooperate within the KOC based on the decision of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic), which was subsequently transformed at the beginning of this year by merging with other regional hospitals (Svitavy, Litomyšl, Ústí nad Orlicí and Chrudim) into the holding of the Hospital of the Pardubice Region a.s., conditions are created for efficient and flexible coordination of care for cancer patients in all clinical fields, not only in oncology.
The aim of the newly created KOC of the Pardubice Region, in cooperation with the management of the Region, is to provide cancer patients in the Pardubice Region not only with the fastest possible diagnosis and treatment, but also to improve the quality of its provision by the most consistent use of interdisciplinary anti-cancer treatment led by teams consisting not only of oncologists, but also experts in other clinical disciplines.
We firmly believe that the prepared, newly conceived strategy for the treatment of cancer patients will find support not only from all health professionals working in the region, but also from the political leadership of the Pardubice Region.
MUDr. Jan Calta, Director of Multiscan s.r.o.
