The gala evening took place in the Pardubice Region for the fifth time and the idea of helping the needy is firmly rooted here. "A healthy society can be recognized by the number of volunteers and socially responsible companies. In my travels around the region, I meet a lot of exceptional people who help others. I am happy to be able to say that our Pardubice Region is a bit healthier again, for which I thank all those who have a share in it," said Pavel Šotola, the Pardubice Region councillor responsible for social care and the non-profit sector.
The evening was held in the spirit of great thanks and messages. Miluše Horská, Vice-Chair of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, expressed one of them on behalf of the organizers. The fact that someone does something for others in their spare time and does not even perceive that it is something above and beyond is becoming more and more common. I think our society is slowly maturing again and values are being reassessed. And we know that when someone is willing to do something for us just for us, it's a small miracle. Thank you for the small miracles you have sown among us. We will continue to sow them."
So again this year, 10 volunteers, nonprofits and businesses were honored for their exceptional community service. In addition, 7 volunteers were also awarded a special prize by individual members of the jury, including the councillor of the Pardubice Region Pavel Šotola, the deputy mayor of Pardubice Jakub Rychtecký or the director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Eva Malinová.
The winners in all three categories received the "Heart on the Palm of the Hand" award, which was made in their workshops by the CEDR Pardubice non-profit company. The selected volunteers were also rewarded with a trip to the headquarters of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the European Parliament in Brussels, where they were invited by MEP Tomáš Zdechovský.
Among the awarded companies this year was also the company Multiscan. The gala evening was attended by the owner Mr. Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis.
"Since the beginning, when our company has been organizing events in cooperation with the Avon Breast Cancer Walk, Multiscan has been involved in the cooperation of this important event. Both in terms of cost with financial support, and above all with personal independent input, where the emphasis is on the importance of prevention, to show women from the region who have some health doubts or already started problems that we have top experts in the region who can help or direct them. With Multiscan, through MUDr. Vit Ulrych, there is always a very nice and natural communication, with the result of helping others. Personally, I am always honored to have such a company in our region. It rightly belongs to the Socially Responsible Company award" said Mgr. Květa Štěrbová, director of the company Kroužky, o.p.s.
"We have been operating in the Pardubice Region since 2002 and thanks to our outpatient clinics in Ústí nad Orlicí, Chrudim and Svitavy we feel connected to the whole region. We appreciate the award very much and we can already promise that in the future we will try to help not only our patients, but also other needy people, non-profit organizations or charity or cultural projects", said Vít Ulrych, doctor and spokesman of the Multiscan Cancer Centre.
