The Bench of Hope was unveiled on the premises of Pardubice Hospital, in front of the clinical oncology building of Multiscan s.r.o.

"We are very happy that the premises of Pardubice Hospital were chosen for such an inspiring and commendable project as the Bench of Hope. I think it can be an important place for cancer patients and their loved ones to recharge their energy. But of course not only for them. Hope as such has a very important role in treatment. I hope that this bench can also symbolically give patients and their loved ones strength and hope for a speedy recovery," said Vladimír Ninger, Director of Health Services and member of the Board of Directors of the Pardubice Region Hospital, under which the Pardubice Hospital falls.

Martina Kulštejnová, Executive Director of AKESO Holding, which includes Multiscan in Pardubice, also spoke about the importance of hope in the road to recovery and the project itself. "It was a pleasure for us to be able to implement the project Benches of Hope together with the Pardubice Hospital, which aims to give strength and courage in the fight against cancer. I believe that it will serve its purpose not only for the patients, but also for the medical staff, whom I thank for their care for the patients."

A bench to give hope

"During the implementation of the previous Sad of Hope project, I realised how important it is for cancer patients to be able to sit down and recharge their batteries. That is why the idea for the Benches of Hope was born. On the bench there are carved doves as a symbol of hope, which we want to pass on to all cancer patients," said the initiator of the project, Věra Fina, herself a cancer patient, at the unveiling of the bench. "I hope that this bench will give hope to all those who are looking for it," said Věra Fina. She brought her books as a gift to the cancer patients and wished them never to lose hope and, above all, good health.

Hope is important nowadays

"I believe that the Bench of Hope will be a place where people can perceive the world around them and realise what is and is not important in life," said Michaela Matoušková , Deputy Governor of the Pardubice Region responsible for health care .

"Hope is really very important nowadays, and not only for cancer patients. I am convinced that we all need it," said Senator Miluše Horská.
