Circles at Wings of Hope 2017 again under the auspices of Multiscan

23. 5. 2017

This year's Wings of Hope were spread by the non-profit organization Kroužky East Bohemia in the monumental building of Gočár's Automatic Mills in Pardubice. During the third Sunday in May, nearly a thousand people came to support the fight against cancer.

MUDr. Vít Ulrych from the Multiscan Oncology Centre took on the role of the traditional expert guarantor of the event. With his erudite presentation he contributed to the awareness and the necessity of breast cancer prevention, but also assured the visitors about the advanced healthcare in our country, including smaller regions, not only Prague (you can watch the recording of the interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSTKMnnovX8&t=2s). Then MUDr. Ulrych took the honorary role of presenting one of the Wings of Hope awards. From his hands the award was received by the long-time chairwoman of the Club of Oncology Patients, Mrs. Alenka Nováková. "I am constantly rewarded by the joy and satisfied expressions of our members, e.g. after returning from a convalescence, from a trip, from the theatre or just after a membership meeting where we enjoy life together. I think I've had enough of these awards and I think there are many other people who like to do something for others without any reward and who deserve to be recognized. But I have never received such a gift as a voucher for a weekend stay in Poděbrady," adds Mrs Nováková with her typically kind and modest smile. The second award of the Wings of Hope was presented by the deputy director of the Svítání school, Mgr. Markéta Hujerová, to her "colleague" the deputy director of the East Bohemia Circles Society, Mgr. Petra Schönbeková, who, despite her youth, proves daily to untangle the complex fates and situations that result from the enormous responsibility of running a non-profit organization. It is extremely difficult and responsible to recognize in the jungle of different psychological life stories of individual people what is good in them and that they can pass on this good to others. The personality of Petra, who is now also a 2017 Wings of Hope honoree, can do it. "With this award, I want to point out how important it is in life to be hardworking, loyal, fair and, above all, to accept one's work as a mission," says the director of the East Bohemia Rings, Mgr. Květa Štěrbová. And because this award is truly a matter of the heart, the most famous Czech spa Poděbrady is a proud partner of this award.

During the exceptional Sunday in the Automatic Mills, children's laughter and joy sounded everywhere, as the children from the Rings performed everything they have learned during the school year in the Rings.

The show of the French brand of the Promod fashion chain managed to highlight the beauty of women, as it is known for its simplicity highlighting just pure femininity.

Proud partners of our event are the ladies "BELLIS" Bellis Young & Cencer, who belong to the project of the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer. They focus on young female patients undergoing treatment related to breast cancer. "I have great admiration for their resilience and determination to help, often in spite of the fact that at the same time they themselves are going through the disease. Every year it is a great honour to shake hands with them and to be reminded once again of the importance of self-examination," says Květa Štěrbová.

Expected guests at this year's Wings of Hope were prominent personalities in the field of writers and popular bloggers. They were Dominik Landsman, a.k.a. the modern father, and also a native of Pardubice, the excellent and affectionate Verunka Hurdová, a.k.a. the Raven Mother, who is a great supporter of the so called NON-education.

A well-deserved applause was given to the Amare dance troupe from the Svítání school. The pupils danced their hearts out and their performance was excellent. To calm down and receive positive energy, we had the opportunity to listen and participate in meditation yoga under the guidance of the experienced Katerina Steklova from the Malaya Centre.

The end of Wings of Hope belonged to the traditional Avon anthem, which was sung during the release of pink balloons, for those who did not win the battle with cancer.
